I’m sure I’m not the only male would-be cartoonist who has ever taken a surprisingly long time just to draw a pair of cartoon breasts. Seriously, by the time I had settled on the shape and positioning I had nearly forgotten what this comic was going to be about. Also the mobile phone looks more like some sort of shaving implement at this resolution. Bah!

Hmmm… I think it is time for me to do some programming again. This has become one of my longest ever periods of work-avoidance, and it simply can’t continue much longer. That’s why I’ve had so little to blog about lately, because normally I write about tech subjects as I encounter them. But as I’ve said many many times, software is getting less and less fun to work on these days. There’s so much API stuff to know, and for what? To write yet another crappy Windows GUI app which is just as boring looking as every other Windows GUI app?

I feel like I’ve been had, getting sucked into this whole Win32 look-and-feel thing [where an application is expected to conform to the latest Microsoft approved style with its menus and toolbars etc] I should have been doing what I always tended towards anyway, which is to write my own interface stuff from the ground up, so I’m not limited to churning out same-ol’-same-ol’…

Hang consistency and usability! I want programming to be fun! Blah blah-dee blah etc
