Lando goes live
Less than 9 days from submission to approval of my first app… not bad!
This link should open for iTunes US store, not sure when it will show up in others.
To be honest I was kind of expecting it to be bumped because of confusing lack of interface, and knowing it’s visible now makes me want to fix everything and make it 100 times better (already I have learned some better ways to do things in iOS)– which all kind of validates the exercise of forcing myself to this milestone.

Congratulations! Is this your first published app?
It is indeed… hopefully there will be many more to follow :)
I love the old school look. A bit confused on the controls at the moment. I did make it to a planet though, I just need to understand the steering.
yeah, you see why I thought it might get rejected :)
Tap on the ship for menu (i know it’s ridiculous, but time was running out when i added the menu)
Woohoo!
Shame I don’t have any of the hardware to run it.
Fablious!
I read the tweet, installed the app and had a few games, all during the course of a single boring status meeting. I have no idea how people survived meetings before smartphones were invented.
I wonder though, how you could release this without GameCenter and Facebook integration and the option of in-app purchases of new planets to travel to. How can you expect anyone to take Lando seriously without these features?
Ah you laugh, but I do suspect I can’t avoid adding GameCenter support if I want future versions to have at least a shot of catching on.
yeah and I wanna be able to tweet ray comfort from my spaceship
impressively smooth and a great first attempt, but it’s too slow. You should port Drivey and let the player tilt the device left/right for steering to avoid the traffic (in your and oncoming lanes). That will be super duper cool!
My son was just playing Lando and I had to laugh because I remember him 7 yeras ago (playing) Drivey on my computer. If I remember correctly it was not really playable but as a 2 year old he thought he was playing it. You are his favorite game programmer. ;)
Ah, here is the link…

Love Scott’s comment!
Youve succeeded Mark! My grandmother said the purpose in life is to make a child smile!
Congrats!
Congratulations, Mark!
I shall try it on Jo’s iPhone.
_I_ have a Android :)
