Water

This is rather sobering; take a look at the teeny tiny amount of available fresh water we depend on in the world.

NB the “all fresh water” sphere does not include ice and snow, which would increase its volume by a factor of 3.

    hmmn…hard to interpret unless they had a ball of all the humans on earth – compacted.

      At this scale the ball of people would be much much smaller than a single pixel, with a diameter of just over 1km. (assuming 7 billion people being smooshed into a volume of 10 people per cubic meter)

      For reference, the diameter of the Earth is about 12,700 km, and the largest blue sphere is more than 1000 km across.
