My Dalek

Created in 1988 from mostly cardboard and a plastic lightshade, it was built to full scale and wearable as a costume. I have no idea what became of it; I assume it was chucked out at some point to save space.

I can't believe I never got a photo!

All that remains are the plans, which I created with the help of The Doctor Who Technical Manual.

Note that much of the construction is worked out geometrically, using a compass [the full size templates were created using a large ruler as a make-shift compass]. Compared to how one would tackle such a project now, such methods must seem positively stone age.
