“It’s a lot easier to forgive a person who has wronged you when you know that an omnipotent deity will ensure that their eternal soul suffers in excruciating torment, until the end of time.”
— Anon.

I saw V for Vendetta tonight, and found it surprisingly good [I wasn’t really impressed by the preview and I loathed the Matrix sequels]. Stephen Fry plays himself rather well, and features in what I found to be the most moving scene of the film. Actually there’s a lot of stuff about the movie that’s pretty stupid too, like most of the TV stuff. Perhaps part of what I was impressed by is that it really seems like it would have been a tough movie to sell post 9/11.
Also, Natalie Portman has the most amazing folding eyebrows. When she does her sad face, each one becomes a little V on its own.
I can’t believe the hideous phenomenon that is INXS:The Next Generation — I grew up with INXS you bastards! I was honestly moved when Michael Hutchence tossed his hair moodily in the [for the time] very filmic clip to Never Tear Us Apart. I thought Dogs in Space was a ground-breaking film. And then he died, tragically and awkwardly, and that was that… Until now. Nearly nine years later, the rest of his band have decided to shit on his grave by replacing him with a guy called J.D. Fortune, selected via reality TV show.
On a totally unrelated note, I have had it with Firefox. It’s buggy and not improving fast enough. And so I’m trying out the It’s not pretty, but then neither is Firefox, and IE7 is available without hubris.
