A Bit Drivey-er Still

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

I was trying to avoid using any filters at all (and Windows Movie Maker doesn’t even let you adjust them), but there’s something about pure black and white that I can’t go past— especially after seeing the almost too slick Renaissance trailer.

PS: the original non-filtered version of my exciting morning drive to work can be seen .

Very nifty! The multi-level car park section at the end was oddly nightmareish. It’s a shame WMM doesn’t let you set a fixed contrast threshold though.

nice, close mic recording. is this 2x as well? or 2.3x If not, you’re driving way too fast. I just got my license, so, i’m really enjoying be legit.

It’s also a shame that the IXUS has such coarse shutter speed variation (you can see it snapping between about 3 levels of brightness during the clip).

This is again 2x (15FPS played at 30). I would play back at 25 but free and bundled video tools for windows are too retarded to do anything so clever. If anyone knows a lightweight free video editor for windows please let me know (Jahshanka won’t run on my machine).

Maybe I should just get a Mac :)

VirtualDub gets the most coverage but I’ve never found a use for it - I just wander over to my Mac instead:)
A registered version of Quicktime is by far my favorite video editor - just right for smooshing stuff together and messing with sound…
In fact Quicktime [Mac or PC] is as close to a ye olde SVHS editing suite as I’ve found - very comfy.

actually, just get a macbook. I’ve got drivey up and runnning with crossover very nicely.

I’m even using jujusketch as well, except i don’t know how to draw.

To my knowledge you are the first person to see Drivey running on a Mac :)

Well… I’m collecting reference material, and thinking a lot about it whenever I have a spare moment, so eventually something new will happen there :)
