A Dull brown form stands alone. It grows stretching upwards branching its arms to point at the sun. Olive shapes try not to make the sun reach through and hit the ground. Silky webs whirl around with morning dew dropping, hitting against the rough surface of the bark. The wet soggy grass softly blows against the tree in the gently breeze. The arms swaying to and fro try to make them more colossal every minute of the day.
Ah yes, I remember that one. It is the one piece of high school writing I wish I hadn’t lost track of (I actually lost it not long after writing it, I remember being particularly annoyed). Particularly heartfelt and personal, would probably be painful to read now but if I had it I would post it.

So, if God had intended for us to have wings he would never have invented vacuum cleaners!

I should add that I love this story and need to hear Mark’s thought’s and/or memories regarding it.

To be honest I have no memories of it, except that there is a good chance it is a cleaned up version of a much ruder story about flying “doodles”

Could you maybe put up the sandcastle story from highschool? Fiona says it was fantastic.
