Doing the right thing

Although I will happily enjoy downloaded TV shows without paying (in part because of the way the MPAA, MIPI et al keep trying to equate copyright violation with burglary), I have to say I feel like I owe something to Ira Glass and the excellent radio show This American Life (now available as a podcast).
And so I have responded to their current pledge drive with a donation of $50, and I hope that other fans might do the same. It really is a great show; the only podcast to which I will consistently listen to every episode in full.

i got so excited about you mentioning it available as a podcast, that i went to itunes to download it, then realised, i already have it as a podcast (and done so for some months now).
doh. so that means i’m either stupid or i really like the show that any mention of it excites me to do something twice.

Just got an email from Ira! He signs off with “Your Friend, Ira Glass” - so totally worth it!!! I feel so… noble… like an… inert gas of some kind… probably Radon as that’s the biggest and also shares my initials.
